Williams Sonoma I heart you!

I cannot believe another Christmas has come and gone.  I hope yours was filled with magic and fun and remembering the reason we celebrate.  The birthday of the King!

This Christmas the boy, kept asking about Gingerbread houses.  I thought I would escape this lovely yet DIFFICULT tradition since well, the boy is a boy.  Well, apparently gingerbread houses are not just for girls.  Of course this did not deter me in trying to redirect him everytime he brought it up.  Why you ask?  Well they are wonderful but frankly unless you have Martha Stewart and her staff, they are downright hard to make, bake, cutout etc.  Now I do try to be as Martha Stewart as much as humanly possible, but I did not want to take this task on.

Cut to Christmas shopping at Williams Sonoma with my mom.  Right in front of us at the check out was the most adorable and could not be eaiser to put together gingerbread house kit ever!!!!!!  Grandma insisted we snatch it up.  I was still not sure, but it was so easy and never has a 6 year old had more fun with candy and frosting!  Mommy and daddy had fun too!  Not enough to make, bake and cut out from scratch next year, but enough to pay the cash and let Williams Sonoma do the hard stuff!

Cookie Exchange

I love cookies!  I love to dunk them in my coffee.  I love them when my friend M makes them with more icing than cookie!  I love soft ones and crunchy ones.  Ok, you get the point.

What I am not good at is making them.  I am a pretty decent baker but when it comes to cookies, I always seem to under or over cook them.  Usually the latter.  Probably it's because I am doing a million other things when I bake them and should really just concentrate on the cookies.

Anyway, I said all that to say, I have to go to a cookie exchange.  Six and a half dozen is the requirement.  This is enough to send my already, I haven't started anything for Christmas yet, panic into overdrive.  So I decided to take carmel chocolate covered pretzels instead.  Now my sometimes desire to "please" people and my "rule following issues" tell me that the other women at this brunch my not be pleased with this renegade attitude!

What do you think?

Sephora

Is there anyone else who enjoys Sephora as much as I do? I do not know what it is, but the minute I walk in that store, my endorphins kick in! I truly enjoy it. I think this must be how the boy (my six year old) must feel when we go to Toys R Us.

Perusing the isles, being able to see all the colors and test anything you want, it's like Baskin Robbins for make up junkies. Whether or not I end up buying something or just looking, the result is the same. I leave with a smile on my face. All those brands in one place, it is truly a product lovers paradise.

I went with a friend last night and we must have walked the isles at least ten times and every time we found something new we didn't see the first time. And don't get me started on trying out everything! So the next time you are at the mall and feeling stressed stop into Sephora and browse. I dare you not to smile!
